Hasan Jahangir
Hasan Jahangir is a Pakistani singer who gained international fame in the 80s for his single 'Hawa Hawa'. He was born to an Iranian father, Mohammad Ali Ispahani (late) and Iranian decent Indian mother, Kiran Nissa. Hasan is the eldest of eleven siblings. Hasan's passion for music and singing came from his paternal grandfather who used to play sitar and harmonium (disambiguation). Hasan's father migrated his business along with the family to Bangladesh and eventually moved to Karachi, Pakistan. Though, Hasan's father sent Hasan and his brother to Karachi, Pakistan for their education. They attended Mama Parsi school and Adam Jee College in Karachi. Hasan started to sing at local concerts and was soon recognized by one of the talent scoutts.

He is often regarded as South Asia's first pop musician. He started his career in the early 80s, and initially released several moderately hit songs such as the famous 'Imran khan is Superman'.Hassan always remained inspired by legendry versatile singer Ahmed Rushdi . He use to attend Rushdi's concerts during school and college life. He gave several hit songs later on including 'Hatto Bacho' and 'Shadi na karna yaroon'.

It was in the eighties when Hasan Jahangir’s terribly catchy ‘Hawa Hawa’ came into music listerner's consciousness. Two decades later, ‘Hawa Hawa’ hasn’t lost its appeal. But over the years, many unofficial remixes of the song have released and majority of them have not done justice to the song. And Hasan Jahangir never gave rights to remix his most famous tune… until now.

The super hit single is now on its way to an Indian film. It will be featured in director Revathy S Varma’s film, Aap Ke Liye Hum. Aap Ke Liye Hum stars Jaya Bachchan, Ayesha Takia, Madhvan and marks the comeback of Raveena Tandon.

But it won’t be featured as the original version. According to reports, the song will be re-created to give it a contemporary feel.
